Ran an 8 minute mile. Striker ran a 7:48. Fastest guy on the team.
Leonard Scott ran a sub 6. He was 3rd fastest in the country.
All in high school.

Must have been the fat camp soccer team

seriously
you might as well not show up to a HS meet if you can't run sub 6

4:26 in 9th grade (circa 1992). Just went up from there as I my upper body filled out and I went back to swimming. I couldn't get under 7:00 now if you put a gun to my head.

shite I probably couldn't run it in 9 with a pit bull after me. It was 19 years ago for me

I could probably get 1 mile under 6 right now
but I'm still in decent shape at 29, or at least in decent runner shape

just being 29 means you're in decent shape.

While I was in basic training (Army) I ran a 5:15. I probably couldn't run a 15:00 mile now.

Probably around 7 min for me but....I choose NOT to run! Just like Jerry.

Back when I was in high school and playing soccer you didn't get on the varsity roster unless you ran a sub 6 minute mile. My personal best was 5:45 my junior year and shaved it down to 5:15 for my senior year. Back then I could run all day and not get tired but we were doing probably 8+ miles of running during spring practice. Couldn't do that today if my life depended on it.

6:45 or something similar.
Just ran 1.25 miles yesterday at around 8 mins (hadn't run in awhile and just wanted to see where I was at)

My son ran a sub-eight minute mile for the Presidential Fitness thing, and he's nine. This you?
