16:48, but that was in high school cross country and I started having health issues from training to do that.

These days I run comfortably in the 28 minute range and dngaf. I don't even keep time most of the time.

Never timed just a 5K straight up, but my best 5K was in this year's Cajunman Triathlon, 24:22, 7:52 pace. I'd like to think without a swim and bike I could go all out and get that close to 7:30 pace.

Something around 21 minutes. I honestly don't race that many 5ks.

5K is 21 flat.

I ran the Mockler Oktoberfest 3 mile in 20 flat a few (like 10 ) years back, but IIRC, that was a convergence of great fitness, great weather, etc.

I'm in the 24-25 minute range now, but I'm also pushing 38.

Christ, that makes me feel old typing that.

It is for fat people... Actually long distance runners (not me) tend to scoff at 5k people.

That's hilarious. I laugh at long distance runners because of their shitty bodies and cult like mentality. Also they run so fricking slow.

I don't see anything that's completely unbelievable in this thread

i've did it a couple times on the treadmill.. Does that count.

They were in the 33-35 min range.

i only do it for cardio when cutting though. Running for fun could be the dumbest thing ever and one of the worse things you can do to your knees

the winning kenyans run 4:50s per mile as their marathon pace. their tiny, emaciated little girl bodies notwithstanding, that is fricking fast.

I love it when meatheads condemn running. Usually bring up the "bad for your knees" argument, which is hilarious

Literally every body builder I know runs. I'm talking competitive body builders not fat dudes with big arms who claim to be body builders. It's the people who don't know what the frick they're doing that think running is bad. People love to talk their way out of doing the correct stuff.

Yep, 99.9% of people including big swole dudes can increase their fitness level by running 3-4 miles 3 times a week.

Oh, 17:53 in track (sprints and jumps) shape, always wanted to try and break 17 mins after college, but that would have required a different level of training and commitment.

Older now, might try to break 20 minutes when I turn 40 in a few years.

if you think running is good for your knees good for you. I know people that ran for 20+ years and they wish they would have never done it. Not the latest 5k craze people but the older crowd.

There are many benefits too it, i'm not saying its a bad thing. I just think the 5k craze is dumb, running is boring, and its bad on your knees over the long hual.

This was from a couple of weeks ago (haven't uploaded my latest stuff). A little over a 5k. Improving my time and distance each week.
