Shop your prescription around. CVS is screwing you.

Text them to stop taking 1hr lunch breaks for the entire pharmacy at the same time

Same or similar legislation has already passed in Ar and cvs has closed 22 pharmacy’s.

CVS basically sucks. Pretty much any Walgreens vs CVS that I have been in, even when they are basically next to each other. The Walgreens is a much better visit in every aspect.

Damn I haven’t heard that name in a long time.

Nothing would make me happier than to see CVS go out of business

One is the same exact BP medicine I take at the same dosage and I get it for $3 from Walmart. Hers was $26.
Do you have the same exact insurance? I'm assuming price is dictated by whatever price was negotiated with respective insurance carriers.

I'm pretty sure CVS just closed every location in Arkansas.

MAGA is targeting big pharma to lower prices for consumers and big pharma is trying to fight back with these doom texts.
Cutting out PBM (pharmacy benefit mgmt) middle men that drive prices up to keep the corporate profits gravy train going.

I understand that, but hers is normally better than mine. She actually has two insurances.
Plus, you can go to Walmart and get that 30 day supply of the generic version without insurance for like $8 or something. But she would rather pay more than triple because she's "used them for so long". That's just crazy to me.

If you can’t make money selling drugs, I can’t help you.

Help
Arkansas passed a law, and I'm sure other states will as well that you cannot own a pharmacy and PBM in the state.
So essentially CVS/Caremark will have to choose operate as Caremark the PBM or their retail CVS store if the law holds up in court. If forced to choose, they will pick Caremark.
As the market is currently, Caremark is reimbursing your mom and pop pharmacies say $18 for medicines they pay $20 for while reimbursing CVS $25.
If nothing changes, 10 years from now, your independents will close up shop (as they are being bled out) and your only options will be CVS or a big box retailer like Walmart that offsets pharmacy losses with store sales

If you have access to a local pharmacy I just can’t imagine why anyone would opt for using a big box pharmacy - all of them are a black hole of despair with terrible prices and even worse service. If this helps give local pharmacies a leg up I am all for it

This is Louisiana. You already know the answer.

I got one earlier and thought it was a phishing text and deleted it.

CVS chose owning the PBM over owning pharmacies. They overpay their own, while underpaying everyone else, especially independents. This tells you where the money is. If a medicine is $1200, they are probably getting $600-800 of that as a "rebate". If you don't pay the "rebate" you don't get on their formulary and can't sell your medicine.
