What is the worst fictional universe to live in?

Books, movies, music, folklore, video games, etc.
The Warhammer 40k universe has to be at the top, right? That entire universe is about chaos trying to take over. Entire planets are destroyed on a monthly basis it seems like. The shittyness is so over the top on such grand scale by intention it wins by that alone.
I would follow that up with the Witcher universe. Too many fricked up folklore stories of curses gone wrong. People accidentally being cursed, etc.

Unfortunately, I believe that is non-fiction

Any of the zombie ones. That tv show looked like a miserable existence.

Game of Thrones. They don’t even have internet there

Entirely dependent on who you are.
A warrior would thrive in any universe where battle and glory were the order of the day. Imagine an existence where there was always the lure of another enemy to vanquish.
Women and spoils to be had. Adventure and danger and new lands to be conquered.
But some peasant? Some farmer who would have his fields burned and his village pillaged?
There’s a reason most tales are told through the eyes of those who make history happen as opposed to those who whom history happens

28 Days Later would probably be the worse. Walking Dead wouldn't be too terrible as far as ZAs go

The one where Georgia has won a championship since 1980

The one where Nelson Mandela died in prison

The one set up by Cormac McCarthy's The Road is abysmal. I can't think of many worse.

Came here to say Warhammer 40k. The Prince of Nothing world is pretty rough too.
