I wouldn't want to be a Muggle in Harry Potter... There's a reason that was set in the years before the Internet was invented. I'd find out the truth about magical people and I would be jealous

Known Space and the Dune universe are pretty terrible.

Depends on who you are within that world but wypipo had it good in the East.

The Matrix.

Well, outside of the matrix--in the "real" world.

that Ready Player One world seemed pretty depressing and also seems most realistic in terms of where we are heading

The A Quiet Place universe. Everybody damn near dead and can't talk loudly or make any sounds. Always being hunted.

The one set up by Cormac McCarthy's The Road is abysmal. I can't think of many worse.

I think this would get my vote too. It's rough, and absolutely realistic.

• A universe that looks just like ours, but dogs are in charge.

• A universe where humans evolved from corn.

• A universe where people eat their own feces.

• A universe with violent antiques shows.

• A universe in which bears make spiderwebs.

• A universe in which SNL’s cast consists entirely of nonsense characters, a piece of toast, and Bobby Moynihan (who is feuding with the piece of toast).
