Put them in a box like the old days

I’d like to know the percentage of people that are homeless because they enjoy the lifestyle. I sure seem to see a lot of them with cellphones and buying $4 coffee.
A lot of homeless are couch surfers. I think its a lifestyle for the grungies.
I think only a third of all people considered homeless actually are on the streets.

You obviously have not lived in a border town.
I have
But you're missing the point
As long as the demand for drugs is extremely high they're going to find their way in. You don't solve the drug problem without solving the demand for drugs. To think you can fix it by ramping up border security is the most naive dumb frick opinion of all time

If pointing out that your original post was part of the problem makes me the cocksucker and not you, then I’m guilty as charged. You’re just mad because I called you out for saying some stupid shite

Cut supply, price goes up, fewer people use. Drug use goes down as supply chains are busted. It could be more dangerous, but much of the shite coming from Mexico has Fentanyl in it already.
Its not the only way, but its the best way if we continue fighting this silly war.

We’re gonna have to kill them. They’re not going to just get it together one day after a nice lady hands them a $5 bill and a Bible scripture.

Drugs are the problem. What’s the solution to drugs?
Portland has become an even bigger shithole since Oregon decriminalized hard drugs. It’s shocking how many people think this is a good idea

Ever considered that the demand for drugs remains high because they are so easily obtained?

No, that's definitely not true. Border agencies intercept tons of drugs headed our way when crossing the border.

Start running mental hospitals again. The government decided to close most of them and allow the patients to take their own medication. That would solve a large chunk of the issue.

Michael Shellenburger has done a lot of work in California to get to the root of the problem there.
YT interview w Shellenburger
He stopped calling them "homeless encampments" and started using "open air drug markets."
He also found that places that make it easy to be homeless, ie California, will get a shite ton more homeless people.
One thing he found is that it has nothing to do with home prices. CA's homeless policies draw an influx of homeless druggies from other states.
If this makes it sound like he's a heartless conservative, think again. He's a 60s style hippie liberal who is doing this work out of compassion and a desire to actually effect change rather than just talk about it.

The problem isn't just the drugs, its subsidizing users and not allowing citizens to defend property with deadly force.
Do that and your crime problem changes.

Before those idiots in New York fell for Eric Adams pro-cop routine, Andrew Yang was running for mayor and pointed out that involuntary hospital beds went down by over 90% under DeBlasio, and that his plan was to more than double the budget of that before DeBlasio even stepped foot into office. Sounds like an idea that is at least worth a shot, but nah they went with Eric Adams who is simply a more charming and non-ogre DeBlasio.

Also execute the entire Sackler Family since they’re largely responsible for this.

Bringing back institutions.
Honestly if we replace welfare & food stamps with a solid, base level of healthcare it would probably be both more humane AND cheaper in the long run.
