There's a homeless dude living in Veteran's park in Lafayette. Dude is the happiest homeless person I've ever seen. Has perfect teeth and the Jesus look going on. I'm genuinely curious to know his story.

I'm not sure I buy that every homeless person has drug issues. A considerable amount? Sure. But I think circumstances vary from person to person.
If it’s 80/20 addicts / not addicts, I’d rather take care of the 80% then tackle the 20% wouldn’t you? Merely pointing out that not all face the same problem and then doing nothing because of it is a coward pussy arse view on things and a huge part of the problems we face in society.

What is the solution to homelessness?
It’s the same as the answer to poverty.
Most people don’t want to address it and when they do they go about it the wrong way. The answer?
Education

Stop providing services and space, the numbers will drop.
The easier you make it, the more homeless you'll have.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers but I have listened to several people who study this stuff extensively. Pretty sure that more than 80% of people become addicted to drugs and THEN become homeless.

If it is over 50% which it surely is, then I’m still right and this is merely a deflection because you don’t have an actual rebuttal. Just save us time next time and say “nuh uh”

It’s not just homelessness, we’ve got a lot of problems that need to be addressed.
Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. But we can't ignore our social needs either. We have to stop people from abusing the welfare system. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights while also promoting equal rights for women but change the abortion laws to protect the right to life yet still somehow maintain women's freedom of choice.
We also have to control the influx of illegal
immigrants. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values and curb graphic sex and violence on TV, in movies, in pop music, everywhere. Most importantly we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.

We need to fix the drug problem but if you think this is the way to do it then you're a moron

This, but seriously. Homelessness is caused by poverty and poverty is a byproduct of capitalism. You can't have capitalism without people living in poverty, as well. The Soviet Union had a near zero homelessness rate.

Feed the homeless to the hungry

I say we round them all up, send them to the Moon for a giant death match.
Winner gets a new mansion.

Easily, for the unsheltered. Drug addiction is the primary driver of homelessness.

You obviously have not lived in a border town.

Have you ever seen the hit Netflix series Squid Games?

Wanting to limit the supply is "being a moron?"
