But yet we dont have a workforce that makes us viable
ummm, you forget about the MASS exodus of people once they receive a college degree from a university in Louisiana.
Why would anyone stay in Louisiana for half or 2/3rd the pay?
when you could drive 3 hours down I10 to Texas? Or fly to a further state? who can not only offer better pay, but also offer:
more to do
better cost of living
more affordable housing
better schools
better tax rates
.....
..
....
..
....
well, you know where Louisiana ranks on pretty much every known ranking list put together.
I assure you. If you forced everyone to live and work in the state they were born in, Louisiana would have as a talented and educated workforce as any other state in the South.

Corrupt government, poorly trained work force

- Lack of a qualified workforce, or a volume of qualified talent willing to relocate.
- Complicated corporate tax/legal structure
That's basically it. But under each of those bullets are about 15+ subsets that roll-up into each.

It'd be better, but no they wouldn't. Not even close. Would still only rank above Mississippi

Tiger Woods will not come again, Bass Masters will not come back

Unless our greedy representatives can find a way to grease their own palms, they will keep business out of LA. We really nees to start over.

It's all about corruption.
1) Governments shake down businesses / play favorites when awarding contract
2) Money in the school system (both K-12 and higher ed) is pissed away on wasteful, corrupt contracts. Areas with teacher unions, the unions give campaign contributions to the school board members.
3) Our jackpot legal system occurs because injury lawyers run for elected office and/or make huge campaign contributions to officeholders
4) Roads and public infrastrcture are neglected because of shady contractors, and because so much money flows through Baton Rouge, it needs to be dolled out equally, instead of to areas of highest need

Not really enticing to move your big business to a state that is/has
1 the prison capital of the world
2 worst school system
3 still highly segregated
4 horrible budgeting
5 inconvenient travel routes for cargo(until La stops draggin arse with it’s portion of I-14)
6 enjoying life is absolute trash outside of enjoying the outdoors or being retired
7 nobody wants to set up under the nations’s most corrupt state government and business ownership.
8 And just full of ignorant folks!!
Small packaging and “no skill required” plants/factories seem like the only thing that could just come in, set up and thrive since Louisiana just fricking love it’s unfair hiring/firing and temp service bullshite.
Got tired of pecking so i’lI stop there. I think I-14 will be a game changer for the state once it comes through though.

Louisiana’s tax policy, bad infrastructure, horrible schools, and reputation of corruption.
The Hindu Dindu (Jindal) tried to eliminate income taxes, but the legislature killed that. He tried to eliminate costs by closing the adult day care that is SUNO. The blacks in the legislature killed that. So he tried to offer deals and breaks to lure companies. In that respect he was at least partially successful.
I honestly think that a lot of things would fall into place if Louisana had much better transportation, education, and drainage infrastructure.

You’re about to get flamed by people who love the state for pointing out it’s flaws.
They can’t accept the truth.

#8 motivated talent can purchased for the right price to work anywhere. See Midland, Texas.
#1 & #3 are meaningless liberal bullshite talking points that wouldn't even come up in a board meeting deciding between states much less effect the outcome of said decision.
