River Oaks and West U in Houston
Park Cities and Preston Hollow in Dallas
Westlake in Austin

One of these is not like the others.

Can anyone mention a place beside Fairhope that doesn't cost at least 3 million to live there?

Westheimer forms the southern border.

Also, the deed restrictions strictly prohibit multi family (except for servants quarters) and building height exceeding 38' - so no apartments or high rises.

I just moved here about two months ago. Having lived in Nola and Louisiana all my life. I am actually really digging it here. I thought I would like it but didn't think I'd like it this much. I've been surprised at how much I've really settled in here. Definitely a cool place to live. No it's not nola with some of the stuff, but its got its own thing going on. Also some may not believe this but I have never seen as many good looking girls. Dude they are everywhere. I happen to have one already but for a single guy this would be where it's at. I don't know if it's because of the universities nearby or what. But it is crazy.

My family moved to Richmond from Atlanta when I was a kid, and I've lived in both DC and NYC for brief periods as a postgrad. I moved back to Richmond a couple years ago and plan on staying.

I have noticed that people from New Orleans tend to like it. It's definitely not the same thing, but Richmond has its own culture, especially in the near west end/fan, that people seem to appreciate.

There are a lot of hot girls in Richmond. I'm not sure why exactly, but that's true.

Yeah, there are a lot of young professionals and med school students that live around there. Taphouse, Sine, and Tobacco can get pretty damn fun on a Friday or Saturday.

I feel like the question should have been what is the most expensive neighborhood

Just having huge, expensive houses doesn't make a neighborhood the nicest, at least IMO.

I looked at it more as if I was going to choose a place for my family to live.

RO isn't the richest part of houston. That would be Hedwig Village.

northern va - great falls, mclean, langley
md - bethesda, potomac, chevy chase

houston - river oaks is richer but memorial (especially the villages) is much nicer

bullshite. river oaks is rife with apartments and high rises, none of which exist in belle meade which averages anywhere from 2-30 acre lots. how can you even compare the 2? belle meade has like 3 cops and traffic alone puts them lightyears ahead of that little rectangle in the heart of houston. eta and i seem to recall freaking WESTHEIMER runs right through the middle of it..probably the busiest non-interstate road in all of houston.

You are confusing the residential neighborhood of River Oaks with the Upper Kirby area south of it that really isn't River Oaks. But people attach the name River Oaks to businesses there to make it sound trendy. The actual residential area of River Oaks is the area between Buffalo Bayou/Westheimer/Shepherd/Willowick as borders

Anywhere in LA, AR, MS, or AL can't compete with the other states. They are literally the armpit of the nation. Maybe you should make them their own poll.

GFY. You don't have a clue.

The best neighborhood IN Austin is Pemberton Heights. Or more broadly, all of 78703: Pemberton, Bryker Woods, Clarksville, and Tarrytown.

Westlake is like 4 miles from downtown Austin and is literally separated by a small bridge from the area you described. As far as proximity to downtown area it's not different at all really from Park Cities or River Oaks.
