Probably because it's a prudent decision.

That can really be applied to almost any material purchase. Some people derive joy from different things. I would bet every single person in this thread spends money on shite they don't need, but they do anyway because it makes them happy.

Point granted. I don't think my vices are as costly, but folks get to put their money where they wish.

I just can't bring myself to spend more than $18K on a car/truck.

If you have the financial resources you subtly brag about and you enjoy driving you really should treat yourself to an Audi R-8.

Mid-engine cars are the epitome of dynamic handling and ride.

Buy one from a wealthy owner who drove it very little when his wife realized her purse barely fit in the "trunk" , much less shopping bags Can probably get one for around one-fiddy!

What is your limit, and how did you arrive at that number?

None really.

We have a 15 $45K Plus Explorer Sport decked out with safety features and 4x4 for the wife.

My 2 little boys are riding around with her in it, so safety and some of those features were beneficial, we are both military so can be stationed anywhere and plan to keep the vehicle a while, so the 4x4 is nice.

My truck is a lifted 2016 $50K Silverado. Traded in my paid off 08 Ram that was work 18K and put some deployment cash towards it. We keep our vehicles nice, don't put a ton of mileage on them. There's only so much stuff you can spend your money on, no reason to be frugal about everything.

i have a 44k note now, that was tough number to see.

That being said I look forward to the day i can put a 6 figure note away with easy.

I know there are smarter ways of spending money, but why work so hard if you cant enjoy it a little?

I would love a BMW X5. Just can't justify how it's supposed to be worth 10x my current used whip that's paid for.

If you keep the car 15 years its no big deal. Now how many people actually do that though...

I live in a fairly nice neighborhood and don't really see any beaters being driven around except maybe the high schoolers.

Where are all these executive level financial savants driving 94 corollas?
