re: What degree program would you steer your kid towards?? - kfaulk03
I would do the hard sciences. After u can do whatever one wants and it’s a solid skill/specialty. People, rightly or wrongly, assume you are no joke with a physics degree and can code. ...

re: Question about LSU's endowment... - kfaulk03
LSU is rightfully and unfortunately seen as a boondoggle for funds. Until admin burns off the deadwood and puts the right foot forward, most don’t want to donate. That’s the truth. ...

re: Why aren’t cameras in classrooms yet? - kfaulk03
probably cause of the massive under-funding problem seen in our school systems...
LA spends 12k per kid per year. Sounds like a spending problem.......

re: I see way too many drivers abandoning the 10 and 2. - kfaulk03
People drove millions of stick shifts. Try and do 10-2 on a mountain road or in traffic with a stick. Always was one hand. ...

re: Would Les quit Kansas to become AD if the opportunity arose? - kfaulk03
I love Les, but one of his major downfalls was personnel management. That’s probably the biggest part of being AD. Therefore, I would not support. AD emeritus, head of LSU fundraising yes, head of TAF yes, but not acting AD making coaching hires and dealing with contracts for all sorts of stuff. ...

re: WSJ: Ex-Enron CEO Skilling Plans Second Act - kfaulk03
If that book was accurate, the cfo (fastow?) seemed the most crooked. Skilling saying “I’m fricking smart” to the Harvard dean of admissions when asked gives him props in my book ...

re: If Joe Alleva was fired after ncaa tournament who would you choose to be new AD - kfaulk03
I realize people are just shooting the shit, but this isnt some celebrity reality show. This is a job for an experienced business person, with high character, able to stand up to politics and bureaucracy when needed, and can properly alllocate funds and resources for a huge enterprise. We don’t ...

re: Proactive measure; the next response to reporters from Alleva. - kfaulk03
Ain’t rocket science. “We’ve been made aware of disconcerting news reports recently possibly involving the men’s basketball team. We at LSU have in place both a comprehensive compliance team and academic team to ensure our student athletes have success on and off the court and in the community. ...

re: LSU getting into the game with unprecedented fundraising quest. - kfaulk03
I say this with regret, but on the inspiration spectrum of the DMV to say Dead Poets Society, LSU is a lot closer to giving money to the DMV these days. People can smell the mismanagement and squandering of resources. No backbone or vision. ...

re: Coal miners headed to work in the 1900s - kfaulk03
This is why unions were established. The working conditions today are a direct result of their involvement. But many on here think that businesses just gave better working conditions and better pay out of the goodness of their hearts.
This is quite revisionist history through rose ...

re: WWL’s Seth Dunlap ripping Wade - kfaulk03
Part of the Freezs issue is he played the Bible Belt moral superiority game. People don’t like when you play that hand and then do sleezy things. If it was just sports, much less an issue. Bit like trump and an Edwin Edwards, more rope to hang themselves as they weren’t claiming some moral high grou...

re: How long would it take humans to wipe out the animals if society collapsed? - kfaulk03
A fair amount of major cities are built around river networks so doubt dehydration really decimates population in 5 days. Places like manhattan import shitloads daily and that gonna be trouble though. The top 20% of competence and/or power of flyover country probably fair pretty well. ...

re: Touring The Baltic Countries... - kfaulk03
For me it was nice seeing some of the Scandi cities without blowing obscene amounts of money (its expensive, which is fine for fun but just the hotels and transfers and admin type stuff adds up). Stockholm and st Petersburg was my highlight. Have been to krakow on a separate trip and can recommend. ...

re: 4 Days in Big Sky, 4 Days in Yellowstone - kfaulk03
Around big sky nice hike to lava lake. http://www.montanahikes.com/Lava_Lake.php I’d try and balance off logistics of getting to Yellowstone and the cool stuff nearby (as in not necessarily best solution to be in car all day everyday)...

re: Touring The Baltic Countries... - kfaulk03
I did a Baltic cruise for the sole reason that the logistics of it made a cruise the easiest solution. I’m not a real fan of cruises and pretty well traveled, but it is what it is and got a flavor for it to go back to certain places....
