What is the most “southern” state in the country?

I’d have to go with Georgia. Texas is not southern

Depends .. if you consider any Southerness as backwardsness then Mississippi.

In my mind, only deep or old South states nowadays are Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and maybe South Carolina.

What’s your definition of “southern”? Georgia is what I think of when I think of antebellum “southern” but if we’re talking about high numbers of poverty & kkk members “southern” then Mississippi sure is hard to beat.

MS, Alabama, Georgia.

Louisiana is too but in a different way than traditional Deep South culture. La kind of defines it own culture by itself
