Sadly, this description perfectly encapsulates the majority of this generation, especially the part about being afraid to interact with other people. I don’t see how many of them will ever become functional members of society.

People can’t blame Gen Z for how screwed up most of them are. But the blame falls on their parents and those responsible for their education. For a huge portion of your generation, their parents allowed the iPhone and Xbox play the role of babysitter for the majority of their childhood while their teachers were more concerned with indoctrinating them in radical leftist ideology than providing them an actual education.

I have found that there is a double edged sword when it comes to the work place and getting things accomplished.
Be freaking direct.
It is gonna come off harsh at times but no one goes out to eat and hints around at the wait staff about what they want to eat, they tell the waiter exactly what they want.
That is 100% how the communication at work should go. No assumptions. Just straight to the point, do X,Y, Z for your job and you will succeed

So, they’re getting back by being poor? Good plan

My kid already has TWO jobs and will work harder than your kid.
Only problem is he is a white male.....

You say it like it's a choice. There are no jobs that pay decent wages for young people. They are poor regardless.

This. Wages have been stagnant for decades and inflation is out of control.
Not exactly a great motivator for a generation that doesn't sees homeownership and retirement as an uncertainty.

Gen X let the phone raise their kids and the product is what we all see. Gen Alpha will crush them, not because they are better, just can't get worse than Gen Z.

Crypto is real money. Friends are somebody you just met. Caring only about yourself is strength. Religion is for crazy people. There is reduced punishment for doing wrong. A growing divide between the skills needed to run a modern economy and what young people are REQUIRED to learn. Mostly, a lack of moral ethics and willingness to work hard is what I see.

does carpet bombing a developing nation count as winning a war?
Not necessarily but having the 4th largest military on the planet bend over like a beyotch and give up after 100 days does

Whether they realize it or not, many Gen Z kids have a nihilistic and hedonistic outlook on life. They just don’t think things like work ethic matters. They just wanna do fun stuff.
They were raised by atheist parents into a YOLO world.
They’re screaming out for meaning in their lives and in response the older generations lash out at them for not having their shite together, creating a vicious cycle.
A good portion of Gen Z can’t move out their parents’ house yet and Alpha is experiencing the same thing. Birth rates will collapse and the U.S. government still being headed by boomers will just decide to import more of the 3rd world and blame everything on the younger generations’ laziness.
The generations before Gen Z will be the first to leave the country in a worse position than they inherited - but of course they’ll just blame the youngsters.

It's not that they don't want to work...It's that they refuse to work for wages that won't allow them to get their lives started. Once upon a time, Boomers could graduate High School and immediately go to work somewhere paying a wage that could afford them a house, a marriage, and a few kids. This younger generation knows this and they aren't playing the game even though they are being shamed to death by being called "lazy" or having "no work ethic". Boomers fricked this country up so bad that it has the young people it deserves.

Growing up in an age of instant gratification, 30 second attention span killing content blasts, and constant upvoted dopamine-hit validation. Real life is boring in comparison. Brains are no longer wired for the mindless incessant drudgery of the traditional work environment.

A big problem is weed. Look, I'm not some anti weed fanatic, I'd much rather someone come home from work and smoke a joint and get a good night's sleep than down a bottle of jack and beat the shite outta the wife and kids, but all the weed has made most young people extremely lazy. And with all the weed vape pens out there now, they can easily smoke at work, on their break, any time. I know there's a small percentage that it doesn't effect that way, but the majority become extremely lazy the more/longer they smoke.

Because they had the skills those jobs required. A huge portion of Gen Z don’t have the skills for the jobs that exist and/or they don’t want to actually have to work hard. They are soft for lack of a better word. Yes, their parents helped make them that way.
I have 60 Guatemalans making $50-$60k starting wages because they will actually work. Gringos and African Americans don’t want to do this. They want that wage for working at Starbucks.
