I thought I found a $100 bill but it turned out to be a religious tract.

I worked for a couple of years in casinos. I found money all the time. People would forget money in slot machines, between the machines, drop on the floor. That was when the slots spit out coins. I found $300-500 many times. One casino had a rule that you couldn't keep found money. Another said you could if it wasn't in the machine or tray.

$1200.00 - was snorkeling off the beach at Destin years ago. Came in very handy as I was going through the divorce at the time.

$250, but it was my money I was trying to hide from myself. In HS I worked for Budweiser on Sarurday’s restocking shelves and making displays on a route. I made $100/Saturday. I was spending it like a HS kid would, and wanted to tint my windows and put some HID lights on my truck, so would put $20 bills in the compartment under the back folding seat.
I got a gift certificate for Christmas to get my windows tinted and the HID lights and forgot all about my stash. Fast forward like 6 years when I was cleaning out my truck to sell and I found the money.

Me and my Dad were fishing off a charter boat in the keys many years ago. Well this was, unbeknownst to us the height of the cocaine cowboys airlift days. I pull in what I thought was a monster grouper only to see it was a large trash bag similar to what you'd fill with leaves in the fall and leave on the road for pick up. It was taped up really well and heavy as hell. AS soon as we got it over the side the captain yelled for us not to touch it. He came down from the tower and grabbed his camera and cut a slit in the side where three or four bundles of $100 bills came spilling out. He took pictures and immediately called the coast guard. They show up about an hour later and take the bag for testing. One of the crew said the bag was filled with money probably over 10 million.

A little over $300. In an envelope in the parking lot of the Florida Gators team hotel, the night after the LSU game. The envelope also had the voter registration card of the Gators WR coach. I mailed the money to him in an envelope covered with "Geaux Tigers" (we won). He sent me a team signed football including Ron Zook. Zook was fired the next week.
If there is a moral there I have no idea what it is.

I was sitting in a booth once at a bar in Nashville and looked down and found an ounce of Molly on the floor under the table. That's worth a couple grand.
Of course, I immediately alerted the authorities and turned it in. Would've been a disaster had someone actually ingested that incredibly fun party drug and shared it with all of his friends for the entire weekend free of charge. And definitely something I would totally not do.

Seems like there are a lot of honest people here.
I'm sure I've found a bill but all I can remember if finding change on the ground.

A wallet stuffed with cash on ULL’s campus. It was satisfying getting the guy’s wallet back to him.

And I don’t do drugs but that rat cher is well-done.
A single $100 bill in a gas station parking lot on the way to JazzFest.

Did that on my way into class one day on ULL campus. Had cards, little cash, and student ID, no regular ID , so I just emailed her student account. When we met up and I handed it to her, she just smiled and walked away without even a thank you. She looked like a freshman and it was at the very beginning of school year, I wrote it off as she was just nervous still and relieved from being overwhelmed maybe. If i recall correctly, she did send me an email back later saying thank you

$150 in a wallet. Looked at dudes license picture and he looked like he was straight up from Al-Qaeda. Figured I'd drop the wallet where I found it but take the money. Aint no terrorist gonna have money on my watch.

I've never found money out on the street, but I always find at least $20 in small purses that I use when going out.
It's like drunk me knew future me would enjoy finding it next time I use that purse. Thanks, me.

Not cash, but about 15 years ago my buddy Todd (RIP) and I found Mewelde Moore’s CD case laying on the sidewalk in New Orleans randomly. We didn’t know it was his at the time but sifted through it the next day and found a brand new debit card and a receipt (with the PIN number written on it) with exactly $25k in the account.
We daydreamed about going on a spending spree and talked about what we would buy with the 25 large, and promptly found his mothers address and returned it to her.

$20...
But my son is 9, he's found more money in his 9 years than I did in my 54 years of existence...
He's found at least 2 50s, numerous 20s, and many 10s, 5s and 1s.. not counting change..
He's always looking.. Whenever he sees a Coke machine, he'll always look under it and pull out a hand full of quarters...
I did beat him to a 20 one time, at his school's City Park night, he walked right over a 20, and I grabbed it, and showed him, he was pissed...

When I was around 9 years old, I found 50 dollars in the street. I bought football equipment with it and saved the rest.
