What is the function of State Fire Marshalls?

I've got one that has been patrolling a local stretch of road lately just like a trooper. He watching for car fires?

I've been told that fire marshalls can pull you over for speeding. So can game wardens. Don't know how true that is

Game wardens are some of the most powerful law enforcement agents. True story.

One shot a guy in a Texas a year or so ago when a man opened fire on some firefighters working a scene.
