Very young, at my grandparents’ house I remember seeing a state funeral on TV that was probably LBJ, or Hoover.

The sniper at the Howard Johnson's in New Orleans. Dad had just retired from the Air Force, and we just moved to Louisiana not many days earlier. I remember being scared it would happen in our area.

I was at my grandma's house in Southern Illinois when my uncle came running in the living room telling us that Princess Diana had just died. I had just turned 8.

Please do. Kennedy took office for his first term as President in 61. The Cuban Missile Crisis took place in late 62 when photos showed the Soviets installing missile launching equipment in Cuba.

He was assassinated in 63 in Dallas when he was on the campaign trail and preparing for the election to try to secure a 2nd term.

Nowhere did I insinuate he had multiple terms as President. Every newly elected government official has a first term, no matter how many of few afterwards.

The context in which you phrased it implied that there was a second term.

Don't ask my why, but I can still vividly remember standing in our front yard with all our neighbors watching Sputnik going across the sky back in 1957. I was a little over two year old at the time, but during the Cold War that was a scary time.
The next big event was probably JFK's assassination.

Kurt Cobain's suicide but that was more a product of having an older brother having MTV on all the time

OJ and OKC were things i have vague memories of like my dad complaining about the rockets game getting pulled from TV.

now that i have kids around the age i was when OKC/OJ happen, this thread has me thinking about what they are absorbing

9/11 is the first one that i can tell you beat for beat what i did that day
