The South has better food and hotter women. The best food going in places like Kansas and Nebraska is a glorified version of hot pockets and that is sad because they suck. Even homemade, they are just marginally better than the frozen brand from the store. A much better homemade version can be found throughout the Caribbean.

That always cracks me up. Boston is more racist than Mississippi!!

I have told this story on here before, but here goes:

When I was at LSU in the early 80's I remember one day I was riding the bus and reading the Reveille. In particular, it was an article about poor race relations in the South.

Guy sitting next to me sees I'm reading the article and says, "I don't see any problems with race relations here. You seem to get along fine with black people. You interact and work with them much more than where I come from. I'm from Boston and whenever black people would try to move into our neighborhoods they'd get firebombed out."

Now, I know this may not represent all cities in the North, but it certainly opened my eyes to the bullshite the big media likes to portray about race relations here as opposed to relations in their own backyard.

I lived in northeast Ohio 30 miles west of Cleveland for 5 years, they are EXTREMELY racist. Hell my daughters middle school only had 1 black kid in it and they picked on him until he left. Also there tends to be alot more segregation in the north, blacks here,Puerto Ricans there, whites over here, etc etc.

how so?

The Plains states are much much less populated than the Great Lakes states. There's also more agriculture and lots of very remote farmlands scattered across the Plains states. It's easy to see why there would be some cultural differences.

Despite southern stereotypes, people from the Midwest are actually much much more racist.

I attribute this to the fact that in the Midwest 98% of the black people live only in the cities. I lived 45 minutes north of Indianapolis for about a year once. Unless you went into the city or worked in a warehouse then you could go weeks without seeing a single black person. The South is obviously not like that.

Also the white trash in the Midwest is somehow exponentially more trashy and more widespread than in the south.

Not really

Outside of Chicago, the Midwest is very religious. I will disagree with you here, and I've spent a good chunk of my life in the Midwest and currently live here. It's a little bit different type of religious - Catholic (especially in the cities), Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopal, Church of Christ, Dutch Reformed, etc. vs. the Southern variations of Baptist, Methodist, and Evangelical but it's a pretty religious place. Indianapolis is like a northern version of Nashville when it comes to being the Rome of Protestants. Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh are heavily Catholic and still overtly so.

They are probably the two most similar regions in the U.S. all things considered.

Oh, and those who say the Midwest doesn't have cute girls haven't spent any time at Wisconsin or Michigan State or IU or Iowa (or Chicago as a city), and I say that as someone who grew up in an SEC state, has been to most SEC schools, and lived most of my life in the South.

Concerning food, I'd say the South has the Midwest beat in general for local origins and tradition of food, no question. But the South has nowhere that is in the same universe as Chicago for food, including New Orleans or Atlanta or anywhere besides basically New York or San Francisco/Napa.

Yes, people in the Midwest are religious. Hell, aren't most of the super weird and fricked up churches in the Midwest.

People are in better shape. Can't tell you how depressing it is to see how many fat fricks there are when I travel down south.

As for attractive women, maybe the Chicago factor is throwing me off but there seems to be plenty.

As for racism, my boss says stuff all the time I would consider cringe worthy/borderline racist. I don't think she means it that way but I do a lot of "hmmm"ing to keep from saying anything. Dude at work when on a long rant about how he won't let anyone ever go to a doctor who does t have an Americaized name. I so wanted to say something but I didn't. I don't know if the people I've worked with have ever met a Jewish person in their life lol and they have no clue anything about Jewish people.

Also, not saying southerners are particaruly worldly but it pales in comparison to just how ignorant midwesterners are to so fricking much about the outside world. Like it's extreme. I spent a lot of time explaining simple stuff to them and they act shocked with whatever I say. Got in an argument with someone at work because they didn't think Georgia had mountains.

Rural cultures worldwide stole the Southern culture, including the Wild West culture. They have a disconnect from their cities culture and since they didn't really have a way to separate them... they stole the Souths

I've lived in Indiana and Arkansas and the two areas are very similar. From what I gathered there are a few small differences. The South is a little more religious. The girls aren't as good looking in the Midwest but they're more fun! People in the South tend to be more reserved about what they'll talk about. I think that's why some people have said people in the Midwest are more racist. IMO they're just more open about what they're thinking. The single biggest difference is the amount of alcohol they consume up north. I went to an SEC school and was not ready for the level of depravity I encountered on a big 10 campus.
