They are probably the two most similar regions in the U.S. all things considered.

I agree with that.

And I agree with this.

However, I stick to my original statement about the Midwest being religious. The percentage of churches and church goers in the south is still higher than in the Midwest. So the Midwest is not as religious as the south, and certainly not as religious as the deep south.

I don't know man. I was really disappointed with the crop of women in Green Bay and Milwaukee.

I spent a few nights in Chicago. Good lord that town has like every good looking women in the midwest living in it.

Not as much garbage on the side of the road in the Midwest as in the South.

Skyline chili and its competitors are huge in Cincinnati. I worked there for a couple of years, and their version of "chili" slopped over spaghetti and beans is inexplicably HUGE. Nasty business.

I mean it basically looks like a ground meat spaghetti. Can't imagine it being a bad combination.

Wisconsin has bars in towns like Tennessee has churches. And we have churches too.

But it does seem we have wayyyy more alcohol consumption here.

Baptist don't drink. Catholics and Lutheran's do

For all those saying "food", do you eat southern food at every meal? Even at home here in the bland midwest we eat BBQ, mexican, chinese, italian, southern, grilled, fried, baked, etc. We also have all kinds of different restaurants representing about every type of culture.

I will agree that some of the northern european food traditions are pretty weak. But you need to stop trying to convince everyone that grits and over-sugared watery tea is something special.

Someone gave the correct answer above. The regions are too broad and diverse to answer this question. Mobile, Atlanta and Charleston are as different as Kansas City, Des Moines and Chicago (better food than anywhere in the south). And the cities are completely different from the rural areas.

That's a weird comment. How are their lives boring? I live in the south, but most of my family lives in Wisconsin. Here is what they like to do:

Hunt
Fish
Drink
Golf
Grill out
Watch football
Snowmobile

Is that really much different than your typical southerner? What super exciting stuff are they up to?
