This. Where I am, they’re just often Mexican or Indian women.

It’s due to shitty parent taught and online drivers ed that Texas started in the late 90’s.

If you don’t like it, keep your asses in LA.

At least in east Texas they don’t have paper plates.

About 25 years ago it seems like it was the opposite. As soon as I crossed from LA to TX drivers were switching to the right hand lane so I could pass. Mostly old-timers. It's probably one of the usual courtesies that has disappeared.

Yeah if right lane drivers wouldn’t go so damn slow then people wouldn’t have to hang in the left lane just to go 5mph over limit. You frickers going 60 on I-10 cause more problems than the speeders.

They also move onto the shoulder on state highways to let you pass in East Texas.

I actually find left lane usage worse in Louisiana than anywhere else

Grew up with the closest interstate more than 100 miles away and back then they would literally drive on the shoulder of the highway to let you pass. I remember going 4 wide (2 in each direction) on a two lane multiple times on a long trip. But OP is not wrong they’re not moving out of the left on an interstate.

I don’t take up for Louisiana much, but it’s a noticeable difference once I hit the state line of people who will actually get out of the left lane when they aren’t passing.
You don't even need road signs. You know when you're back in Houston.

To be fair, Atlanta is worse. And Miami? fuggetaboutit.

I’ve got to where I just don’t give a frick about being in a hurry on the interstate. I just get in that right lane and put it on 69

i have driven 10/12 from ALA exit 44 to Baton Rouge most of the weekends this summer and i see this constantly. if you see a 6 car train in the left lane doing 72 and the right lane wide open, at least 4 of them (for sure the front one) will have texas plates and at least one will have Mississippi plates.

i mark it up to the inferior educational system there compared to Louisiana. in fact, i have heard Texas described as a lot like Louisiana, but without the passion for education.

Bro 635 is six freaking lanes and everyone goes 85 on it and even in the construction zones where is legit nascar style lanes at the moment hahah

DFW does not have this phenomenon.

East TX sure. But as someone alluded too most of us are going over 80 anyway.

The worse offender by far of this is people driving I-49.

In west Louisiana it is usually immigrant workers with Texas tags who don't know the freeway laws. Texicans, if you will.

Locals in ETX have only known a world where there is construction on I10 with a cement barrier placed exactly where the solid white line should be leaving 0.0 room for error. The natural development of their brain over a lifetime of dealing with this has led them to the left hand lane

Absolutely! The left lane drivers in Louisiana want to hog the lane but instead of using it as a lane to haul arse in, the drivers here want to cruise along at 72 mph. And are oblivious to the fact that people behind them need to get around them.

The left lane hogs in other states use the left lane to simply haul arse in it and hog it up from those who need to get over and actually use it what it's there for - as a passing lane.
