How is fun, casual sex with a hot little 20 something a mistake? A man has to break the seal. Needs to get over that emotional hump. That takes some doing. Gotta work through your issues so when a nice lady comes along you don't have all these weird hangups because you didn't get any in your bachelor time.

as soon as you can. file the papers and go. the best way to get over a woman is to get on top of another.

It generally takes a year before the divorce is final. Sometimes longer. How long you want the man to wait?

Y'all ever been in a sexless relationship? Not having sex will frick a man's head up, BIGTIME. Gotta clear the pipes and get that monkey off your shoulder so that you can be thinking with your brain and not your dick.
Break the power of the pussy over you. Once you learn that every split-tail on earth has one you realize that the power they wield is only the power we give them.
People should be in a relationship because they want to be. Not some stupid power game.

Depends on the situation.
Sometimes I didn't want to be around anyone, other times I transitioned from one woman to another seamlessly which made things "interesting" for a while..but, so what.

I've been divorced for a little over a year now. Last year, I started dating this girl I thought I was head over heels for. We dated for a few months, then she broke things off. I was heartbroken because I thought I was in love. It wasn't though. She was just infatuated, and I was just lonely. Thank God she broke up with me. It would have been a disaster.
My advice to you is: spend time with friends, rediscover your interests (hobbies, things you like, etc.), and just have fun with your new found freedom. I'm at the place now that I realize it's pretty great to be able to do whatever you feel like and not have to ask another person. That's when you'll know that you are ready for a serious relationship and are not just looking to latch on to someone because you don't want to be alone, or you're trying to find happiness in someone else. If a girl makes me want to be in relationship with her now, I know it's because she's special and not because I'm lonely.

If you have children, you might want to consider their feelings in the matter. If you don't have children, start as soon as you feel like it.

I wonder if it was your emotional abuse and shitty poetry that kept you from the pussy?

Probably more my inability to communicate my emotions and General frickery, but sure.

This could possibly be the gayest thing I've ever read on here. How is laying the pipe to every piece that his loins desire a mistake?

You don't learn your lesson the first time you dumbass!? NO MORE DATING! NO MORE MARRIAGE! Just start buying throw away phones for phone numbers and changing numbers and women as necessary.

How is smashing a hot random woman a huge mistake?

The sooner the better. When my ex and I separated I went and got an apartment. The day I got the key to the apartment, I went out and brought a chick back to it. I hadn't even moved in yet. No furniture, nothing. Banged her brains out on the floor. So I guess you could say I started the same day we separated.

Yup. Until you do you'll be all mopey.
"Why doesn't she love me?"
"Will we ever get back together?"
"Why wasn't I good enough for her?"
Then you get some new pussy and forget ALL about that. You start to realize that it ain't all that bad. And if you somehow manage to get out financially okay...brother...
The world is your oyster. Do you sit and cry because you can't have an old oyster?
Nope, you get a platter of fresh ones and crack them open.

Any advice from divorced OT's?
My first advice would be to ignore all the cliché advice offered in this thread.
As someone who went through the emotional and mental agony of a marriage ending last year, I will say it will take a little while for your head to get right and for you to actually have the emotions necessary to date.
fricking random women is easy. I tore through a bunch in the beginning, but it doesn't really help you if you are truly hurting. Like putting a Band-Aid on a major wound.
Take time to get over your ex before getting into a committed relationship with someone. I dated a girl for a few months and broke her heart big time because I just wasn't ready when I thought I was.
You'll have a feeling of needing to rush to be into a relationship. You are used to being married and not dating. Society puts pressure on us to be in a married relationship. Try to ignore this and do what's right for you.
And communication. I am seeing someone now who went through a similar experience as me with her marriage and it's been great for us to talk and work through some buried issues that our ex's created. We are both happy, and still healing in what is a long journey that most don't understand until they are set upon it.
Best of luck, and know you are not alone in what you are going through. If you are smart and honest with yourself and whoever you date, you will happy in the end.

Why would you get married again after a divorce?
Makes no sense to me. I guess maybe if kids are involved and you want a female figure in their lives, but I don't think I'd get married again after a divorce.
