What is a nice and smaller version of San Antonio

I love San Antonio but I hate the traffic, growth, and change that is happening. What is a smaller city that I can enjoy to call home. I am not afraid of the hispanic culture or people as long as the crime rate is low and the Catholicism is abundant.
Looking for somewhere that is more socially conservative. San Antonio used to be but it is changing.
Places I have considered: Laredo, RGV, corpus, Victoria, San Angelo, Del Rio
Is there a warm weather place in another state that I would like? I would love Wyoming or Montana if they weren’t so cold.

I have no idea, but Durango is nice. Maybe Tucson?

San Angelo
i'm from San Angelo and this is your answer. moved away 15 years ago, but still a great town with amenities but not too big.
Good Mexican food, southwest culture, small town feel, etc.
my kids are going to be up and down the I35 corridor, so Temple works better, but i wouldn't hate retiring there or Abilene.
I'd also look up Tyler, TX. Won't have the Southwest feel of big or little SA, but religious community is strong. Really enjoy when I visit.
ETA: saw the Catholic comments after I posted. I grew up protestant in an entirely Catholic community right outside of town. Wall, where I grew up, was probably 75% Catholic with the church being the hub for most social things. I can't speak to the Catholic churches IN town, but it's a strong hispanic community with a lot of Catholic Churches spread throughout.

OKC has a river walk also but it goes through a bass pro parking lot

Pierre Part is close to the water if you want something similar to the Riverwalk.

Fallujah Iraq would check most of your boxes.
It's smaller than San Antonio, warm, and really, really, really socially conservative.

Abundant Catholicism is an interesting requirement.

It’s only a requirement if I’m living in a town that is 90% hispanic like some of the towns I listed.
