I decided to never get married around 30.

In my mid-40’s now and it was the best decision of my life. By far.

Not a good question. It is a mindset and not an age thing.

40 here and never married

If you had a kid today, he/she'd be graduating from college around the same time you reach the age at which most people retire. If you're okay with that, go for it.

It really is about kids. If you don't want any, there is no reason to get married. Any woman of reproductive age who gets married wants kids, regardless of what they say.

Also, at you age, you'd almost certainly be marrying a woman who already has kids.

If you want to get married basically for retirement, be it to avoid loneliness or because you don't want to end up in a state home, choose a divorcee with an empty nest. So basically, wait another 10 years.

I decided at 20 I didn't want kids, changed my mind later.

Circumstances change. Cold, hard stances are counterproductive.

This. You got to make sure you are putting yourself out there and the right woman will come along. I prayed for a wife and finally got my prayers answered at 28 and she is without a doubt the best thing that has ever happened to me. There is someone for everyone so it's just a matter of putting yourself out there because when you find her you will know. It sounds cliche but its true.

Whatever age you are when you realize that saving your money so that you can retire early can be accomplished by not having that piece of paper

18. The blunt truth is marriage is set up to be beneficial for women not men unless you can somehow get some really successful chick to marry you. Don't get married and if you are unhappy, you can just bounce with little issues unless you are common law which is easily avoidable

I also would hope that any woman that I would want to be with would not be so insecure to think that marriage would keep me around any longer than non-marriage would.

You’re naive for a 40 year old.

Taking care one person is far easier than taking care of 2 or more.

What a terrible way to look at relationships.

Probably 20 years old. Because I found out that 50 and divorced twice is a little late to decide never to get married.

Broadly speaking, as women age, they crave CONTROL. As men age, they crave FREEDOM . I bet we can all figure out why this inherent conflict in the nature of men and women between CONTROL and FREEDOM is a problem.

This is the most accurate thing I have read in a while.

Live your life how you see fit, but this is a terrible outlook on relationships.
