If you have been there, then this is SO familiar to you.

quote:

I didn’t always know I had an illness. It was only after my first boyfriend broke up with me in my first year of college, five years ago, that I began to realize something might be wrong with me.

We would talk on the phone for up to five hours a night, and I would still have intense feelings that he didn’t spend enough time with me. That he didn’t love me. That he would leave me. That I wasn’t enough. My relationships constantly fluctuated — getting people to want to date me or be my friend was easy, but people never seemed to want to stick around.

What I know about Borderline and Bipolar disorders, is you never ever suggest a significant other may have signs. Nope.

It won’t end well.... actually it probably wasn’t going to end well anyway

My girlfriend's mother has BPD and some extreme narcissism. We have decided that we only have to deal with her once a year. I met her for the first time a few months ago and after experiencing her for two days, I have no idea how my gal turned out to be an angel. Probably because she was on pins and needles her entire childhood.

Roses are red.

Violets are blue.

I’m bipolar.

And so am I.

Yeah my ex had that and it managed to send her to the grave. Borderline is massively ingrained in a person. Cradle to grave type of illness. Maybe the hand of God would have helped her but anything short of that...good luck!

I have an ex with this. She is absolutely fricking insane. Refuses to take meds. She’s gonna kill somebody one day, or herself.

I wonder if that's why he used "and" rather than or?

I'm glad I'm normal... Whatever that is.

Walking on egg shells all the time. You are the absolute best one day and the absolute worse the next. She loves you one day and hates you the next. Everything is black or white. No gray areas at all. Extreme jealousy. Didnt want me to spend any of my free time with my family or friends. There is a web site borderlinepersonality.com. Go read the forums. Everyone had the same fricking story. One guy who lived a city away swore I was fricking his girlfriend our stories were so alike. Great sex tho!

I have a family member with it. I've been dealing with it my entire life. Was finally diagnosed correctly with it about 10 or so years ago. What do you want to know about it?

Meds won't do anything. it's a behavioral problem that she has to recognize and correct. But guess what? They can't admit fault so they will never correct the behavior.

I found the article pretty misleading to even mention meds. To my knowledge, DBT is the only treatment

"Walking on EGG SHELLS" is, of course, the name of a book that you should read. Something tells me that you already have.

" The Siren's Dance: My Marriage to a Borderline: A Case Study" is also a good read to help you understand that you are not alone.
