he's using data from the Imperial College study

that study is what EVERY WESTERN NATION is using as the basis for their policy, including the US (and our 50 states)

so everyone spouting "bullshite" needs to take it up with their elected officials

oh, and the study says we have to stay on lockdown for 18 months. good luck

So you mean to tell me, that by so called social distancing, with closing the schools, no more sports leagues, somw people working from home, and to-go orders only from restaurants.

That instead of 2.2 million people dying, only 155(and counting, I know) would die. Look i dont doubt that the measures we have taken thus far could have potentially slowed the virus down. But 2.2 million is a much much much larger number than 155.

I just find it asinine to believe that by Americans spending a lil more time out of our day at home. We have managed to save 2 million lives.

Not to mention, even with this social distancing thing, grocery stores are still packed out. Many people in many industries are still at work.

Remember when Oprah Winfrey said the solution to making America better was to have a lot of old people die....looks like she might get her wish !

Actually a good amount, probably even the majority, of professors aren't "full professor." Assistant professor doesn't mean they're assistants to other professors or anything, they're still professors, they just haven't gone up for tenure yet (which usually includes a promotion to associate).

This. Tradesmen are still going about work, peoples' houses and businesses still need repairs. In fact, some businesses are taking the downtime to get more work done. I imagine as people stay home longer they'll find things to tackle they normally put off which means visits to the hardware stores.
