Less towing capacity, smaller cabs, smaller beds without much better mph and just a few thousand lower selling price. I laugh at anyone who was duped into buying a small truck.

I have a Tacoma. What are you talking about

I use to love my Danger Ranger...
Five speed with A/C and a tape deck. That was about as fancy as she got. I could change the oil in less than 5 minutes with nothing but a filter wrench and pair of pliers. I still miss that truck now.

A Tacoma is as big as a standard, full sized truck in the 80s and 90's and the Tundra is as big as Peterbillt in the 80's and 90's.

That's what I do. But there's not much like the Ranger or S 10 out there. Even Tacos are more than family sedans. Truck prices are insane, but they're getting what they ask.

Ford is supposed to be building Rangers.
Had an early Isuzu p/u and should not have sold it when I did.

My first car was the Isuzu small truck. Called her Susie.
I think my weed eater had more cubic inches than that thing. Only thing g that bench seat was good for was fitting 5 people in it and boning my gf.

Toyota dominated the market. Ford, Dodge and GM got out of the business.
GM is back in, Ford is coming back. Toyota will continue to dominate.

There must be no market for them, but I'd like to have a city-boy small truck like the old Toyota SR5 or Ford Ranger for hauling shite from Lowes on the weekend.
We drove the hell out of a Chevy LUV work truck. Floorboard it everywhere we went. I've been on lawn mowers that had more power.

I do miss the old style smaller trucks like we had in the early 90's. I drove a Mazda B2200 in highschool. As the 90's went on the prices of them to the full sized was shrinking drastically and they basically priced themselves out the market.
Ford still builds the rangers for other country's and I believe they are bringing the Ranger back in a year or two.

Small trucks do still exist, barely !
Why? Because nobody wants one!
One need only read the truck nuts and other Macho posts on this board to understand the mentality of today's truck buyers.
When gasoline gets back to $4-5 / gallon you will see the smaller models start to reappear
Free market at work BAWS!

people stopped wanting to buy them...we all got used to the idea of paying $4 per gallon for gasoline and started buying more comfortable trucks again.

The Ford Ranger pickups are coming back to the US. They make them for the non US market now and saw some in Costa Rica and they are really nice looking. Too bad they won't bring the diesel models to the US.

Back in the mid-'90s I leased a new Nissan truck for a year at $69/month. A month or so later they dropped down to $29/month. You ain't getting a Nissan truck for that today. Those small trucks were a great option for young people needing cheap transportation.
