What happened to small trucks? Sorry if discussed.

Did something happen that made all manufacturers abandon the small truck?

They were huge for decades until ten years or so and now they don't exist.

I have a hard time believing they went away on accident.

It seems like someone would re-enter this market when a salvage tag, 5 year old Silverado is $25,000 and there is no alternative for trucks.

OP is probably talking about the small hard bodies of the early to mid 90s. And he is right, they don't exist anymore.

One of the best vehicles I've ever owned was a 2000 Tacoma TRD. They are still trucking...

Wish I still had it.

Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacomas are smaller than full sized trucks. They aren't Ford Ranger small but definitely not full sized.

I had a 2003 Tacoma 4DR/4WD and that was an awesome truck. I always wondered, why they stopped making that size vehicle.

I am.

I'm talking about the trucks we drove back in the day.

I had a Dodge Ram 50 that was actually made by Mitsubishi when they were cross breeding and that was a perfect truck for a high school kid that wanted a truck.

That doesn't seem to exist anymore and it seems like there would be a market.
