I agree with the OP to some extent, but it seems more regional. What happened to "men" in places like Portland and Seattle- has the post-grunge culture turned males so much softer, gender confused sissies? The “soy boy” trend is certainly confusing. Why not be a masculine man unless you're just gay?? Are women today partly influencing this shift?

I’m guessing they eat a lot of soy? I’ve noticed it, too. The young men are feminine at least in the last 10 years or so that I see walking and working downtown.

Was in the airport the other day. Boarded the plane in group 1 based on my status, then proceeded to examine each male getting on the plane:
90% looked like they’ve never lifted
75% were fat
65% were unkept
It doesn’t take much money or effort to get routine haircuts, be clean shaven, well groomed (eye brows, nose hair), wear clean clothes that fit, and smell fresh. With that said, the latter is overly disturbing.
Overall humans continue to get uglier and uglier.
