This… It’s my belief that people are staying in NOLA/Jefferson parish because they have it in their mind that there might be a workaround for the downed transmission lines. Entergy not releasing a timeline or saying it’s gonna be 2+ weeks for power restoration also contributes to people roughing it out right now. I’ll say this also applies to Tangi and St. Tammany parishes. Once people leave to go stay somewhere else and more homes/businesses are left empty… the looting will increase.
