I get on a plane 6 times a month (before this hit at least) and only do carry-on. How am I supposed to regularly carry a pocket knife?

Spicy melt, baw, but I don't work in a stock room.

I don't carry shite. I don't need to cut anything if I'm not home. At home I can use scissors, box cutter, knives, etc. They don't need to be in my pocket all day for the 5 seconds I might need them.

I have a Kershaw Leek, but I'm an attorney. Carrying it daily would oscillate between being pointless and being illegal. I carry it when I think the chance of needing it is north of zero. I leave it at home, otherwise.

Upvote for Balls.

Have stopped going toward the TSA barrier at the Jackson airport and run back to my car before to get rid of my knife so I wouldn't lose it to the agent. I wonder how nice those guy's knife collections are.

edited to add:

Maybe it is a country bumpkin thing. I took a photo of the knives I have in my chest of drawers. There are some in my toolbox in the garage, too.

It must be exhausting trying to be the most edgy guy on the OT day in and day out.

Probably takes more effort to squeeze that sweet pocket knife in your mom jeans.

Or a brand new Tahoe and a Jason Aldean CD

I’m an athletic non-redneck IT guy and I carry one everyday. Used to carry a Gerber but it got to be bulky

This activity stopped when every place you went stopped allowing you to enter with pocket knives. In the deep south, that was after 9/11.

My grandfather was a collector and I always thought knives were cool as far back as I can remember. So he gave me a few of his to start my collection and would give me a new knife for every birthday or holiday. So I've always had a knife in my pocket.

I used one to cut a tag off a new pair of pants before work the other day and forgot to put it back in my pocket and left for work. Well of course, I needed to cut something a couple hours after I got to work and felt stupid because I felt useless with no means to cut anything.

Currently carrying a Cold Steel American Lawman.

I have a Gerber Gator that I’ve had at least 25 years. I don’t carry it anymore though. I get much more use out of my Gerber multi tool. That’s what I keep on me daily.

Got my 9 year old a Swiss army knife for his birthday last week.

He cut himself with it opening one of his other presents.

This. As for any decline in carrying, I haven't seen it. I see more carrying, and the options in EDC knives are enormous now. Everything from Gerber, CRKT, and Kershaw to Chris Reeves, Microtech, and Benchmade to Grimsmo and others with eye watering price tags. I know a "country bumpkin" who has several $1000+ EDC's in his rotation, and he uses them. In some respects it's like a collection of luxury watches for some, and they deal and trade them as readily.
