In South Louisiana it doesn't matter. All gas from 3 or 4 refineries in BR most stations are serviced by the Exxon Refinery, New Orleans/North Shore/Houma/Thib Marathon/Phillips 66/Valero. SWLA/Lafayette CITGO/P66.
This is partly true. A distribution company can buy chevron gas from the exxon refinery in baton rouge and it will be different than exxon gasoline loaded from the same refinery. It all has to do with the additional additives injected during the loading process

Free coffee or hot dog each time I fill up.
Racetrac hot dogs are actually really damn good if they're not old or overcooked. Only problem is the shitting you'll be doing later might make you regretful.

I've never ever heard of additives being added at the retailer. Costco may buy a high additive fuel to be delivered to them.
They get their own additives from Lubrizol. I think most stations have an underground additive tank that automatically dispenses/mixes additives into the tanks before the tanker trucks start pumping. The filling up then helps to mix in the additive.

Always use Shell unless there is just not one around and I'm in fumes. We have their Fuel rewards card and get between .05 and .10 off each gallon. I use 94 octane in my Harley and 87 octane in my truck.

The Shell by my house has ethanol free 89 octane here in Charlotte.

It's all the same gas dude. You ever seen the truck? It just goes station to station.

Usually whatever is cheapest/close to the house. For me that's Phillips 66 most of the time.
In Louisiana I always liked Valero, seemed to run well in my car which had a turbo. Now that I drive some N/A 4-banger, I don't much give a shite what goes in it.

I avoid the Shell closest to me because it is routinely a quarter more per gallon. I can literally drive less than a mile to another Shell and a Chevron that are way cheaper. I know it is only $4-5 a tank, but over time that adds up. Other than that I don't care.

Shell runs the best in F150. Exxon will make you rattle like a bitch.
I have never had a problem with Exxon in my F150. I use Exxon because I am a retiree and get a significant discount.

1. Whichever station has ethanol-free.
2. Citgo. My truck gets slightly better mileage with Citgo, every time, so I stick with it when possible.

Racetrac, because I never have to wait for diesel, there's one at every pump.

They do not. Anything added to your gasoline (ethanol & detergent additive) is ratio blended at the loading rack onto the trailer before the truck leaves the facility.

Mostly Shell, occasionally something else

Chevron. When gas was $4/gal they wouldn't shut the pump off at $100 so I could fill up.

If you do use a specific brand, do you use a gas specific credit card?
Valero. $.08 off each gallon of gas up to 100 gals a month.
It's paid back in a rebate on my account.

He's right. Not to mention the ole Colonial pipeline.
ChemE'd at CITGO in Sulphur.
