I think we are all in agreement that no one but us touches the titaniums
The linesman plier was a thought. They do make them in stainless that you can find a couple of places. Just never heard of anyone using them for a fishing application. They are also $70 so a little on the high end

Offshore fishing pliers

Recently got a pair of sword titanium pliers for offshore fishing. They are great. Dont think you can bend them. However I keep a few extra pairs on the boat for other people to use and these never last. Main issue is the jaws become bent from twisting circle hooks. Other issues are corosion related (manely super pliers)

Anyone have a pair of stainless or other corosion resistant pliers that they really like that dont bend out of shape on offshore tackle? For a reasonable price. Not buying titanium for novice anglers

Next Decade

Posted by batonrouger on 7/11/25 at 10:56 am
I have been seeing the VG (venture global) thread pop up here and there but haven't seen anyone talking about next decade (NEXT). Anyone else invested in this one? I have been in since $7. Having a nice bump today. They are working on FID for train 4 and 5 which is expected before September 15th. They have a epc contract with Bechtel that expiries on that date so they are trying to get their financing before they have to renegotiate what the plant will cost to build. With a market cap of only ~2.5 billion I think this stock has alot of room to grow into a Cheniere / Venture type of market cap. They may need to dilute the stock some to raise cash for FID, but still think this will be a good return for those that bought in at a reasonable cost
go devil makes a good one. You can buy from their shop in baton rouge

Fourchon launches

Posted by batonrouger on 12/21/21 at 10:26 pm
Anyone know the status of boat launches in fourchon? Trying to drop a large offshore boat tomorrow afternoon. Is morans/ fourchon marina usable? What about pointe fourchon neighborhood? Is the public launch ok?

Just fyi metal drums are way safer for gas. Plastic builds up static electricity upon transfer. Metal disapates any static immediately.

Im in the fuel business
Also you may want to make sure a fuel company doesn’t technically still own it. It may not be your property to sell
Im in the fuel business. Tank isnt worth a whole lot especially if it has rust issues. $500 max

elusive porpi is dead on. Use maverick for fishing charters.

stay in jaco if you like to party, stay at the resort (los suenos) if you want to be a little ways away from the party scene.

casino (cocal) has more than gambling available

Clean it backwards and leave the ribcage in the fish. I roll through them and leave plenty meat on the filet. Use a dexter russel scalloped edge 9" knife only
227 swordfish
102 yellowfin
96 amberjack
90 garfish

Are my best fish. Swordfish by far the coolest fight
