I challenge anyone to come up with a more random place/"famous" person combo.

Strangely enough, I saw him in J. Alexanders in Baton Rouge when I worked there. I suggested that we give him plastic utensils for safety but the manager didn't think it was funny.

Jay Thomas, nice guy, ran in to him a few years later at Jobe's Cafe down town Baton Rouge, and then again a few years after that in the bathroom at MSY, pretty sure he thinks I'm a creeper now

Doesn't he have like 20 kids?
You're lucky you didn't get pregnant being that close to it.

I have watched 0 seconds of hockey.
I had to ask who he was when people started coming up and asking for pics with him....
He's a cool dude and really really likes grey goose...

Do you follow rodeo alot?
Other than his name, I didn't know who he was until I got home and googled him. He was walking around the terminal wearing a sponsor shirt and had his hand rope with him, so it was obvious he was a bull rider.
I enjoy bull riding and watch when it's on, but don't follow closely.

I met Little Jimmy Dickens in a Nashville bar about 10 years ago. He didn't have much to say but welcomed pictures with fans. He was in Tootsies and looked to be with a handler / sitter. He was wearing one of his signature rhinestone jackets and I think a small cowboy hat.
A quick google search just showed that he passed away in 2015 at 94 years old. Google estimates that he was worth $10 million (OT Baller).
For those that do not know who he is...Little Jimmy is real country music legend.

Charles Barkley sat across the aisle from me from ATL to PHL.
Spoke to Bernadette Peters in Reagan National Airport.
Sat across from Michael Bolton in first class from Seoul to Manila where he performed the next night.
He had just broken up with fiancée Nicollette Sheridan and he was reading a People magazine on the plane that had them pictured on the front cover.
I thought about trying to take a picture of him reading it and then sell it to People but..nah, not worth it.

I've waited 11 pages for my friend to post his story, but he hasn't. So frick him, I will.
Oct., '97: LSU beats #1 Florida in Tiger Stadium. Like every other fan, we go nuts and drink until the wee hours. My friend, Bob, had an early flight to ATL the "next" morning. We were only about 4 hours from departure...
I go home and sure as shite, the phone rings about 6:30. Of course, it's Bob. I figured that since he had to get up, he wanted to make sure my sleep didn't go uninterrupted. Not so fast, my friend. The conversation went about like this:
Me: Hello, Bob.
Bob: How'd you know it was me?
Me: Because it's 6:30 Sunday morning and you're an a-hole.
B: Guess where I'm at?
M: The airport, I hope.
B: Yeah, but WHERE at the airport?
M: How the frick would I know? I'm hanging up.
B: No, not yet! I'm in the Crown Room!
M: So what.
B: Guess who I'm with?
M: I have no idea. Goodbye!
B: LEE CORSO!!!
Now I'm awake, and he has my attention. Bob is a very personable and funny guy, but he loves to frick with people.
M: That's great! Are you fricking with him?
B: (laughter ... then I hear him speaking to someone else) My buddy wants to know if I'm fricking with you.
New, but familiar, voice: You can tell him, yes. (More laughter)
The call went on for a while, but you get the gist. Lee Corso was a really good sport and took a bunch of ribbing because he had picked Florida. They were both in First Class on the flight to ATL. Bob told Lee he was going to try to get his seat assignment changed so they could sit together. Lee told him that wouldn't be necessary because he was planning on sleeping during the flight.
I can't believe that was almost 20 years ago. I've got to get a few beers in Bob and get him to re-live the experience. It's hysterically funny to hear him tell the story and do his bad Corso imitation.

• Ben Crenshaw across the aisle on a flight from Vegas to Orange County. He was reading a book by Harvey Penick. Go figure.
• Joe Theismann hobbling through the ATL one afternoon. Man, his walked looked painful.
• Barry Melrose low profiling it while walking through security at Hartford Bradley one day. Cool dude.
• Dkembe Motumbo on a flight from LaGuardia to ATL. Dude is huge, has big feet and was dressed to the 9's.

My mom (no pics) JUST called me and this thread immediately popped into my head. She just landed from her direct flight from MSY to SAN to visit my nephew. Called me to let me know Drew Brees flies Southwest and she knows because he was sitting across the isle from her. He was alone, wearing black beats headphones with a gold #9 on the sides, real conspicuous. It took until the last hour of the 3.5hour flight for her to nut up and thank him for all he's done for NOLA in so many ways. He then signed a present she had for my nephew, the only thing my mom had to sign.
I know, CSB. I leave to visit them on Monday. I'll have no such luck.
Famous people I've ran into at airports: 0
….and thats traveling at least 4 flights round trip, 3 domestic and 1 international, a year
