Pull ups
Even in my fittest and lightest times I always struggled with pull ups.

Probably wind sprints for football practice.

Bull in the ring was fun.

Leg curls. I always felt like i had to pee.

I was in good shape. Running (even stadiums and suicides), pulling, and pushing werent an issue compared to peers. Im not saying it was fun... but i always felt better than the guy beside me.

We used to do neck bridges that I wasn’t terribly found of.

Once we had to run 12 400s in under 60 seconds each. With a small break in-between. Almost quit the team that day.

This never happened. If you can do 8-10x400 under 60, you've got a decent shot at running under 4:00 for the mile.

We had to run 300s in under 35 seconds with about a minute rest in between runs. Starting at 6 the first day of summer practice and going up to around 16 I think.

This also never happened.

It probably was. I’m not a track guy, obviously. I just remember it was a certain # and I didn’t make it after the first few lol.

Bull in the ring. One guy in the middle, everybody else in a big circle around him. Coach calls a number and that guy goes after the guy in the middle. You don't know which direction he's coming from.

THIS. And I had a sadistic freshman football coach that expected you to blindside or spear the guy in the ring if he didn't get on his feet after getting knocked down. He also made no effort to match guys by their size.

Senior year we got us a new head football coach who was a sterabinoid. At the end of practice, he had us do what he called "Saigon City Limits" (this was '75). He'd line us up for team jumping jacks. We start our jumping jacks, and he would call two players to "hunt". They would start running in between the lines of players doing their jumping jacks. When the coach blew his whistle, they would turn and blast whoever was in front of them. If he thought you went easy on the person you hit, the two of you had to do 100 yards of burpee-jump sticks. That year we went 1-9, posting the first losing season since our school was opened in 1947.

Our conditioning test for football was 2 300 yard shuttles. Those sucked.

Also during wrestling we’d have like 5 practices per season where we just went live for like 2.5 hours, those were miserable.

Every year for the first day of summer workouts (after being off for like a month), our pos strength coach made us max out on squat. 80% of our teams (football and basketball) couldn't even walk for like a week afterwards.

Another time that dumb mfer made us max on bench press the morning of a basketball game. Needless to say, we couldn't make sh!t.

this has to be a cross country routine because no other sport would require 3.5 miles of running BEFORE a practice.

One of my football teammates ran cross country in 9th grade and then went out for football starting sophomore year. He was never fatigued or even out of breath, he’d breezed through the conditioning test. (Although he did struggle to put on weight).

I don't know what its called, but its the one where the coach would tell me to meet him in the shower and he'd check me for a hernia.

Easy. Running wind sprints in August in pads and full gear. Brutal.
