Have friends in the Elks Lodge in New Orleans. Yes they drink a lot mostly, argue, back stab, eat, drink some more etc. His wife has been suspended for a period of time. Getting cross ways with another member. Oh and ride in the Mardi Gras parade. I have never once heard him talk about doing any charity work!

Local Moose lodge used to serve a great steak. Its still there but I doubt with all the service gaps this country is experiencing they still do serve this steak at a decent price.

I know the Lions club does a lot of charity fundraising. I think Moose and Elk are mainly drinking establishments.

The Lions Club in Auburn, until 9/11, worked the gates at all the athletic events to raise money for the Alabama Sight charity. They also went door-to-door to sell lightbulbs and brooms to raise money.
They had a lunch meeting once a week, I think, but no lodge and alcohol was not involved.

My wife is president of a local Lions Club. It is strictly a charity organization focused on sight issues. It is NOTHING like the Masons. Your local Mason is just being used for dues so that the higher ups nationally can do their political shenanigans. This is not unlike local unions.

My uncle was a mason. He quit because he said it was the devil's club.
Of course, my uncle thought everyone failed in their spiritual life with Jesus and peppered everything he ever said with biblical quotes and judgement. His family, while loving him as their dad, hated what he became. A mean, judgemental old man.

Do the black and white Masonic lodges ever do things together?

Don't forget about the Woodmen of the World. Founded in 1883 by Joseph Root.

A Moose Lodge is a organization with a bar and requires private membership to drink etc... .
According to their website they are :
An international organization of men and women dedicated to caring for young and old, bringing communities closer together, and celebrating life.
A Masonic Lodge is a place that houses a local group of the world's oldest and largest Fraternity in a place representing King Solomon's temple, and concentrates on making good men better.

They don’t really, according to one Mason I know.
Think that Prince Hall FM kind of grew out of regular (think they call it Blue Lodge) FM though.

Seems like FM, as well as Oddfellows, Elks, etc., is kind of an old man’s game now. Don’t know of anyone under 40 in them, or what recruiting efforts look like.
Some of the lodges still had a lot of prime real estate.

A goat allergy prevented me from becoming a mason.

The Masonic lodges in Louisiana help support these..
Dyslexia Program
and
Shriners Children Hospital
as well as some local low key charity and goodwill programs.

Kind of like an in-person OT with a little charity thrown in.

they have a basketball tourney locally, with villages from Anchorage to Seattle participating. Its very successful.

Masonry is making a bit of a comeback.I belong to a Lodge with about 200 members. All of our officers are all under forty along with about half of the regular membership as well. That said, there are still a lot of old Brothers around as it should be.
Freemasons don't recruit, to be one you must ask one.

The Freemasons transferred their power to the black Illuminati around the time of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” video. Now they hold the power and the white dudes wear silly hats and take care of kids.
