Seems like it didn't cause the panic they were hoping for. Haven't heard it mentioned in months.

First it was everywhere and gonna kill everywhere
Then word got out it was only the gays doing gay stuff
Then the gays adopted kids started magically getting it somehow
Then it magically disappeared from headlines

Telling people the ill effects of unprotected gay butt sex doesn’t really set well in today’s world.

They were uncomfortable talking about it so they changed the name and stopped talking about it.

Considering I have never had gay anal sex and never plan to have gay sex. Mark me as safe and unconcerned with this disease.

Was largely confined to a narrow demographic, gay and bi men with multiple partners. Not very deadly. Out of 72,000 reported cases, only 28 deaths.

NY Times gives the reasons it dwindled:

quote:

Four factors explain monkeypox’s decline, experts said. First, vaccines helped slow the virus’s spread (despite a rocky rollout).

Second, gay and bisexual men reduced activities, such as sex with multiple partners, that spread the virus more quickly.

The third reason is related: the Pride Month effect. Monkeypox began to spread more widely around June, when much of the world celebrated L.G.B.T.Q. Pride. Beyond the parades and rallies, some parties and other festivities involved casual sex. As the celebrations dwindled, so did the increased potential for monkeypox to spread.

And finally, the virus simply burned out. Monkeypox mainly spreads through close contact, making it harder to transmit than a pathogen that is primarily airborne, like the coronavirus. “Because of that, monkeypox is a self-limiting virus,” Apoorva told me. That made it less likely to grow into a larger outbreak.

What Happened to Monkeypox?

Still common in western and central Africa. Could ramp back up if the group at risk starts skipping the vax and resume orgies at Pride Week.

Turns out a virus you only get from butt sex doesn’t hit 99% of Americans radar. Then when they tried to “rebrand” it so as to not offend the gay dudes randomly putting their pecker in another dude’s anus people shut it down.

Who’d thunk it?

That’s only part of the story. There’s not a lot of difference between gay sex and heterosexual booty sex.

The biggest difference is the lifestyles surrounding the sex. The gay population is full of horny gay men that like to socialize. The pandemic severely curtailed their lifestyle.

Summer, gay pride month, the end of the pandemic created the perfect environment. Horny gay men once again descended upon the world determined to make up for lost time. Parties quickly turned in gay orgies that lasted for days.

Gay orgies that lasted all weekend involving hundreds of gay men having lots and lots of butt sex help spread monkey pox.

This is what I couldn't understand. Lots of straight younger people are eating arse and butt fricking. Not my thing, never will be. But I couldn't understand if the monkey pox was a gay thing or a butt thing.
