So we should expect another round in June.

Then word got out it was only the gays doing gay stuff
Then the gays adopted kids started magically getting it somehow
Then it magically disappeared from headlines

Seems like it didn't cause the panic they were hoping for. Haven't heard it mentioned in months.
They couldn't shake the fact that only dudes doing butt secks were getting it and it wasn't a real threat to normal people, unless those butt secks dudes were molesting kids.

They traded monkey pox and murder hornets for bird flu and a future Ukrainian made virus

The third reason is related: the Pride Month effect. Monkeypox began to spread more widely around June, when much of the world celebrated L.G.B.T.Q. Pride.

And finally, Monkeypox mainly spreads through close contact...“Because of that, monkeypox is a self-limiting virus,” Apoorva told me. That made it less likely to grow into a larger outbreak.

Went to the doctor this morning and they asked if I had been around anyone with mp, so I guess it's still around.

It likely flames out after an outbreak at Southern Decadence.

It disappeared as soon as the kids of gay couples started contracting monkeypox

I can think of a few continents where it wasn't celebrated...

Marjorie Taylor-Greene killed the monkeypox hysteria with one tweet:
She may not be everyone's favorite, but she did bring up a very disturbing point with this and I don't think the left wanted to go down this road.

Something like .2% of US cases were kids, so her point was a straw man. This was an outbreak that primarily impacted the gay community, and was primarily spread via skin or anal lesions. The gay community learned from HIV and took precautions against it, and cases plummeted.

Her point was not a strawman. .2% may seem like a nominal number, but when we're talking about pretty obvious child sexual abuse, no number should be considered nominal.
I definitely noticed a change in monkeypox coverage once the stories about kids and animals getting it started coming out. They stopped using monkeypox as fear porn because they did not want to address those questions.

Went the same place that the "Stop Asian Hate" message went. When all the videos of Asians getting attached were perpetrated by a certain demographic...
