I don't understand this. It's like sitting in the front row at a movie theater.

I have our wedding pic. On the mantle itself is several of my daughter's art projects

Never been a fan of tv over the fire place. Doesn't set well with me.

One of the first things people ask me is how come I don't have a TV above my fireplace. I don't think it's trashy, I just rather the living room be a place to talk.

An antique mirror flanked by cypress knees. I know it's unusual to decorate with cypress knees, but they remind me of my home state, Louisiana.

I have an oil painting that we bought in Greece, it had the turquoise colors of the Mediterranean that my wife loved. It's an OK picture.

TV over the fireplace

If I'm facing my fireplace, it's because there's a fire in it, and I want to chill and look at the fire.

Great room has 50 something led tv and some small pictures. Hearth room has smaller tv and decorative shite clock, candles, etc. master just has pictures over it. I'm ok with my trashiness

Oh and when I ever finish my bar in my basement the large stone fireplace will be decorated with sports memorabilia

Is this for people up north? Because I don't even understand why anyone down here would build a fireplace.

BIL has a large charcoal portrait of John Wayne. It is pretty awesome. Kind of like this one :
