Besides MRE's what could be stockpiled to be used in the event of a 6 month long power outage? No electricity, no running engines, no anything. We go back to caveman days and build fires with friction and collect rainwater. Other than a ton of MRE's, what do we wash down with that rainwater until the grid comes back up?

Louisiana baws' stockpiles of deer, fish, and other meats would be used up pretty quickly.

Without electricity I wouldn't have to go to work, so I could fish every day. I could keep that supply going for a while.

I would fish. I think that would be the easiest route.

I don't know how much food production depends on the electric grid. Trucks and combines run on diesel. Cows, pigs, chickens, fruits and vegetables don't need electricity. So, I would continue eating the same thing, just in the dark.

You do know a Bic lighter will still work right and you could boil water from anywhere

I've been stock piling up on flint rocks in the event this happens. I would suggest you do the same!

There’s shitloads of rabbits, squirrel, and doves in my neighborhood. I can sit on my roof with a .22 for a couple hours and have meat for the week.

Keep collecting. I'm stockpiling guns and ammo.

Same in my neighborhood too. My family would wouldn't starve but at some point ammo would run out whether it's from hunting animals or protecting property from looters. I'm talking a long period of time. A year possibly.
