Im sure some of you know this, but Phil used play football at La Tech, he was the starting QB... Terry Bradshaw was his backup and became the starter when Phil decided to stop playing football.
The story he told that struck me, was when Bradshaw, Joe Montana, and some other famous HOF were traveling for something. They ran into Phil at the airport. Bradshaw, who is a great story teller, said here was three HOF football players, still famous from being on TV every Sunday during football season, and fan's were rushing up to get Phil's autograph. Totally ignoring freaking Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana!

Wasn't there a story out that he beat a guy to death outside a bar or something? I may be confusing him with someone else. I think the story went his wife was cheating on him and the guy she was having an affair was in the same bar one night. Happened in Arkansas from what I remember.

Yes, it was actually his bar. Phil ran it up in Junction City, AR. Phil was a pretty violent individual in those days due to drugs/booze and he doesn't deny any of that. In fact, he walked out on Kay and at that time I think it was Alan, Jase, and Wille. He also had a out of wedlock daughter recently surface from those days. They all remember that side of Phil. However, one of Phil's closest buddies led him to Christ and he turned his life over to Jesus. Phil is a changed man now and everyone that remembers that side of him has forgiven him, just as God has forgiven him.

I’ve never understood the South La hate for North La. I’ve spect a lotta time in Nola/ north shore & Laffy area & usually its some people in SW La that have a huge disdain for anything north of Evangeline parish. Could a South La resident enlighten me on the hate & why?
