Having a group text argument. Some are trying to say that Hammond and Slidell are part of the North Shore of Lake Ponchartain. I can buy Slidell even though its more east, but Hammond is not even close to Lake Ponchartrain.

The best one was when some Yankee "writer" on nola.com said Denham Springs was part of the Northshore...

An area that sits North of a body of water. Hammond sits WAY north of Lake Maurepas and nowhere near the north shore of Lake P.

Geographically speaking it would be from Manchac to Slidell. (Manchac, Madisonville, Mandeville, Lacombe, Slidell).

Most people would consider Madisonville, Mandeville, Covington and Slidell as the N.S.

We in Mandeville only recognize Mandeville and some parts of Madisonville as the true N.S.

Hammond residents would love nothing more for them to be considered North Shore. But no amount of wishful thinking will get them into the club.

The only correct answer is Covington/Mandeville/Madisonville. Trash Hammond and Slidell are not in the conversation

As a Ponchatoula resident I couldn't care less. Too many people in St Tammany act as if their shite doesn't stink like they're from some highfalutin place. Yet Mandeville and Covington are still a couple of po-dunk towns in Louisiana littered with strip malls and chain retail outlets.
