This. It's convenient that Mandeville and Covington residents act as if the parish is this golden haven in the state but forget that communities like Sun, Pearl River, and Lacombe exist.

The North Shore is the part of the NOLA MSA that is on the opposite side of the lake from the city of New Orleans.
That does not include Tangi Parish, in which Hammond is located.
However, the NOLA CSA (Combined Statistical Area) DOES include Tangi and Washington Parishes.

If i'm going to the North Shore, I think Mandeville, Madisonville and Covington. If I'm going to Slidell, I say I'm going to Slidell. Don't really give a shite about Bush, Sun and all the other country towns above Covington.

Growing up in the 70’s, St. Tammany Parish was the Northshore. I grew up in Mandeville.

Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington and Lacombe. Hammond and Slidell are not.
