Also, it doesn't change anything because I'm at work and I won't get home until after them anyways. I was simply trying to save her aggravation from sitting in crappy Atlanta traffic.
So what does it matter

So why are you mad?
I'm pissed because of this:

Her - Stop lecturing me with should haves
There was zero lecturing. I wanted to simply let her know that traffic is going to get bad and she should leave sooner than later.

At some point in your marriage you have to learn a little about your spouse. Like,Does she generally respond well to unsolicited advice ? Mine doesn’t, so I try to avoid, although sometimes I can’t help it.

The battle here is it's hard to draw a line about what advice I should give her and what I shouldn't. Some days she takes it fine. Other days, not so much.

It’s not about the advice you gave...it’s how you gave the advice.

If she’s the independent type with a good head on her shoulders, then I think less is more in this situation.

If she wants advice from you she'll ask
All you can do is mention things...if she wants to know more she will let you know

and what if it doesnt? It's a holiday week and school is out...lots of people are still on vacation.
Maybe traffic will be light...I know it was light for me this morning.

Your wife sounds awesome if that’s all you can come up with.

It was a bit condescending, assuming of course she's familiar with traffic in Atlanta.

Her - Thanks dad
She doesn’t respect you.

Was that your wife or daughter?

Any of my kids reply to me with "Stop lecturing me with should haves" would get a taste of the pimp hand!

Me - I'm just saying it could cause your trip to be an hour longer than it needs to be.
And she's just saying you should shut the frick up and let them plan their drive on their own like normal adults.

You do sound somewhat like a control freak.
