I bought myself a membership to a gun club. Wife got me some fresh clean threads t shirts and a security console for the truck.

The best gift I got was another Christmas with my 91 year old mother and having all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren together. There were about 30 of us for breakfast and a game for the grands and greats before the gifts which always brings lots of laughter and smart remarks. Then all of us crammed in another room around the tree. Watching the little people getting wide eyed and excited about their gifts is the best. A few funny gifts I gave to the older kids at the end made for more laughter and remarks.
I got gifts, but nothing compares to the experience of the day. It was terrific!

Got a new pirogue from Ron Chapman Shipwright in Chalmette. The Cottonmouth with spud holes and cypress rails.

My grandpa had given me one some 30 years ago that I’ve used ever since, but a couple years ago I pulled the boat out from under the boat shed without realizing the pirogue in the rafters was tied to it, and snapped it just about all the way in half.
I repaired it but went overboard with bracings and glass and just about doubled the weight which makes it useless for solo hunts.
The new one weighs 40 lbs, was able to reach over from on the boat deck while on my knees and pluck it out of the water and press it up onto the rack, no problem.

Sadly my big gift won't get used... my wife got me a wallet w a picture of us embossed and my name on the otherside...bad thing is about a year ago I switched to an ultra slim wallet cause backpain and what she got me is the bulkiest wallet Ive ever seen... so Im torn between guilt of not using it and going back to a Costanza... thankfully she get's it and said after she ordered it it hit her but here it is..
Got other cool stuff though... new tumbler, peppermint bark, some awesome dress socks, new LSU shirt, some soap I like.
