But, do employers really give days off for Easter - not personal or vacation days, but actual holiday days off? I've never heard of such a practice.

It is common in heavy Catholic areas to have Good Friday off

We're closed Friday, but not for Easter or Good Friday. Some of our staff does a lot of tax season work, so instead of just giving those people off, the owners close the whole office every year on the Friday after tax season. Most of those people took today through Friday off. I may take Thursday off, but the weather is supposed to be crap here, so I may just work and save that day for a nicer day next week so I can go to the farm and fish and dick around.

I’m taking an entire week off. Gives me time to put up the Easter tree and buy Jaxxton and Bryleigh their presents.

Friday, but have vacation starting next Wednesday and then company meetings the next week at corporate, so won't actually be working from the 24th to May 6

I get paid hourly. I can’t make overtime if we have a paid holiday. Easter is nice and all, but I don’t have a big family obligation to fulfill.

So just get your 40 hours and a day off. I guess it's the whole work to live/live to work argument. To each his own

None, and I have to use vacation for Good Friday.
It's all good because this is my favorite weekend of the year. Crawfish will be boiled and eaten!

I am off whenever I please but usually only take off Friday but I will spend some time on the phone and emails. This year I am not taking Good Friday because my birthday is next week and I always take the week.

sounds like your real job sucks baw. I have a real job, only work four days, and I'll even get Thursday off along with my usual Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. I also hardly ever work 40 hours a week but I get paid for it. I'm hourly so take your salary pretentious bullshite and shove it.

Friday we're working from home since the building we're in will have power cut off for renovations (new electric lines).

So you still work Fridays? I get 52 of those off a year.
