It is the opposite in our house. I have a need to know what is expected of my time so I can plan the rest of my time otherwise I get nothing done. If not prodded my wife would let me know 10 minutes before bed on Friday we were flying cross-country Saturday at 8:15.

My wife tries to trick me into agreeing wayyyy in advance to things I don’t know will conflict with stuff I want to do.
I’m on to her and now I just don’t commit to anything and say “let’s just play it by ear”

She knows my standing plans are I'm going to the lake If she wants to join, then come on; if not I'll see her Sunday evening. Any plans outside of that are usually planed a month and a half ahead of time.

Sounds like you need to take control of you wife / man.
My wife's itinerary on Thursday is normally asking what are cooking this weekend and what time are leaving to go fishing.
