Had a Co Worker take a job with Murphy that required him to move to the El Dorado office and not the Houston one. He was at a different operator back in Houston in six months.

There’s some decent sized oil companies HQed in Midland which is like 150- 175,000 people. Concho and Diamondback the two biggest I believe

These don't fit the 200,000 specified by OP- Wichita has close to 400,000 and Omaha is over 400,000.

worked out of Concho’s HQ for awhile. Shitty place near the midland PD HQ

Johnnys had good bbq though

Diamondback was housed in some shitty 80s industripex style one story building. Can’t believe that company is still going

Shack in the back was a good watering hole though

Wall Street Bar and Grill and The Bar have always been my two spots in Midland. They opened a Woodrows in Midland as well, it’s 100% dudes off rotation crushing domestic light beer.

Canes fakes having their HQ in Baton Rouge.

They’re actually pretty clear about their HQ being in Dallas.

Wall Street and the Bar were legit. Although both were full of dudes every time on sales dinners

Woodrows wasn’t bad; best beer selection in Midland and usually a pretty upbeat crowd.

I could go for a Torino’s bbq chicken pizza tbh

Zucci’s in Odessa was my favorite bar. Easy pickins

Shack in the back always had the best looking women although it was packed since it was only open like 20 days a year.

You ever hit up crude fest? Have some good stories about that

They've built huge hubs in Tempe, Richardson, and Atlanta, but corporate definitely is still in Bloomington.

ADM and Caterpillar used to be based downstate in Decatur and Peoria, but they've both moved up to Chicagoland.

Chicagoland

When I got my first real job out of college I worked with this Romanian guy who said he lived in Chicagoland. I thought he was just terrible at English, took me a good two years to figure out that was a real place
