Great cologne, but its price point is steep.
Would have never bought it on my own for this reason

During the hot sticky summer this is about the only one I can stomach wearing. It’s just a clean fresh scent.

Have you tried Creed Green Irish Tweed?
If not, you should. It's right to there with Aventus.

I don't think I've worn cologne since I was in college.

I haven’t. Will have to give it a look. I don’t splurge on watches, shoes, etc. but smelling good is something I’d be more willing to splurge on

Hardly any most of the time. I'll take a good shower, apply deodorant, put on fresh clothes and head out the door.
IF, and that's a BIG IF, I use cologne it is your basic Jovan Musk for Men and I've had that bottle for over 5 years now.
I've never been one for the $$$$ fragrances and over the years have been gifted things like Hai Karate, British Sterling, English Leather, Old Spice, Canoe and a few others I can't remember. Most smelled like crap.
Old Spice was what my dad used and it's not bad, but a dated fragrance and I like the aroma of Canoe and would not be hesitant to use it again.

I hardly wear it, and just a small amount when I do.

Buy the large bottle and you get a free Polo duffle bag with a zipper that will break after three uses.

Nope nope nope. Pass.
Cologne and perfumes typically contain a dozen or more potentially hazardous synthetic chemicals, some of which are derived from petroleum. To protect trade secrets, makers are allowed to withhold fragrance ingredients, so consumers can’t rely on labels to know what hazards may lurk inside that new bottle of perfume.
