Just curious, what’s the draw to Boise?

For me it’s gotta be Bozeman MT, Boulder CO, Marathon, FL, or Flagstaff AZ

Tough question to answer. For me, “best” place to live has to take into consideration COL and climate. Portland and Bangor, Maine are both incredible during the summer but they would be absolutely hell in the winter. Parts of California are great but COL just makes it so undesirable to me. “Best” place to live also means that it leaves you with enough money to live in a nice home, and enough for things to do. Best place also depends on your distance from other desirable places; able to be traveled to on a weekend.

That being said;

Spokane, Washington
-couple hours from Seattle without Seattle COL. Very reasonable
-very beautiful and scenic
-Mid-sized city with plenty to do.
-Almost no culcha

Flagstaff, Arizona
-within driving distance to Vegas, Pheonix, SoCal, Mountains of Colorado, etc
-mountain town with very scenic landscape
-small town feel
-lots of outdoor types
-breweries and things to do

Chattanooga, Tennessee
-LOW COL
-Beautiful scenery that allows for outdoor activity
-no state income tax (huge one for me)
-within driving distance to family here in La, the gulf coast, the Atlantic coast, Asheville, Atlanta, Nashville, etc
-rapidly growing, diverse economy
-big but not huge town. Still feels small.

It depends on how much money you have, and on what you're into. It also depends on what kind of weather you'd like to experience.

I've lived in quite a few places and so far Chattanooga is my favorite.

Nice shot. That's basically the view from my balcony at home (although lower obviously). Beautiful city.

I would live in east TN if it wasn't so cold. It's one of my favorite areas.

Richmond Hill isn't too bad. Close enough to Savannah for things to do but far enough away to not be robbed daily.

This weather is perfect for me. Anything warmer in the spring/summer would be unenjoyable.

Everybody in here with the same cookie cutter shite. Give me a place where the movers and shakers are. Big buildings and bright lights.

So any of:

NY
Las Vegas
DFW
Houston
Los Angeles
Seattle

Cities along southeastern seaboard from Savannah to Richmond with the exception of Atlanta and Hampton Roads.

Charleston, Charlotte, Raleigh, Richmond, Savannah. All seem to be pleasant places in general.

Hey man, leave our fat black people outta this.

Chattanooga is routinely in the top 10 for fattest and unhealthiest cities which blows my mind considering the vast amount of outdoor activities around here. It does get very rural very fast once you leave the city, and all the Rwal Tides love moon pies and Sun Drop.

Nothing is more "cookie cutter" than large American cities. Row after row of nondescript buildings.
