OK, I can be convinced of that, but like someone else said, I only remember the times idiots screwed it all up.

Anyway, I stick to the craps tables these days.

I generally despise those who think how others play affects them at blackjack tables because I had a guy want to throw down with me one time because I split 9s against a dealer 8 and got a 3 and a 2 on top of them and doubled on both, got a couple of 10s for a 21 and 20. Then the guy at 3rd base hits on his 9 and gets a 5, and then hits again and busts. He started bitching me out saying if I never doubled after the split that he would have gotten the 10s and that I fricked up his hand.

Dumbass. In a macro sense, in the long run, it doesn't matter how others play.

I've always heard that betting the pass line, 6 and 8 are your best odds in the casino.
Yes and no.

Laying odds behind the pass line is one of the very few true-odds payouts in the casino - it pays exactly what it's odds of occurring are; the house makes its money by requiring a certain amount to be bet on the pass line (most casinos are 10x or 20x).

The pass line itself however, is in the house's favor (especially during the come-out roll). That's why you aren't allowed to go over the 10x/20x on the odds.

Dont pass is a better bet than the pass line

It's just that most people dont do it since they dont want to go against the table

That and you have to bet it before the point is established or pay a vig. Most people either don't want to take the risk of a 6/8 point, or really really hate the idea of a vig.

I'll also add, and I say this as a former dealer/pit-boss, "frick those guys." Guys who want to place don't bets are the biggest pain in the arse players at the table.

The house edge difference is tiny (1.36% vs 1.41%) which is not enough to be "that guy" at the table. Why I like craps is the fun of it when the table gets hot and everyone is winning. Closest thing you can get to a team sport in a casino.

Poker room is where I spend the VAST majority of my time and 100% of my sober time in a casino.

Roulette. Been tearing that one up at Margaritaville. I never really played up until about 6 months ago. Won a good bit of money on the only video poker machine with a multiplier in the whole casino. (Nobody really knows about that one) Figured there was no way they were gonna let me win as much for a while (I'm convinced it's rigged and if you're using your players card, they'll jack you around) so I started playing roulette just to learn and have picked up some tips from the guys who are always up there playing. You can win a good bit of money if you play your game and not just bet on red or black.

Blackjack has the lowest house edge, if I'm remembering correctly. So I stick to that.

Craps with maxing out your odds bet yields the lowest house advantage

We used to play alot of blackjack and craps. Over the past couple years, pai gow poker has become our main game. It's slower, more social, you can help other players, etc.

Also, I do play slots as it's much easier for getting comped rooms.

No shite dipshit. All I said was that it made the table more fun than it already was, and it happened to work out for me.

Has anyone here played blackjack switch? It's much more fun than regular blackjack.... not sure about the house odds, but I don't play for big money, and I haven't sat at a regular BJ table since discovering switch

Its impossible to win money on roulette, anyone who says otherwise is bullshitting you. Roulette has some of the worst odds for the player in the casino.

Also they don't rig machines or slots... its too heavily regulated to risk it. Odds are already in the casino's favor so why is there a need to rig. Some VP machines have over 100% payback IF you play perfect strategy but even then the amount of grinding you would have to do makes it not worth it. There are "pros" who play 100%+ payback machines all day and say they barely average $10 per hour.

Any blackjack variant has a much higher house edge, the point of these games is to trick players into thinking because there is some gimmick(i.e. Blackjack Switch) that they will have better odds. They just adjust the rules/payouts to make up the difference.

Blackjack and roulette are the only things I really play. Maybe I'll drop a few bucks in a slot machine if I'm just waiting for someone to finish up.
