Seems like the EverStart brand at Walmart gets surprisingly good reviews.

Works just fine. A battery is generally 3-5 years depending on the weather mostly. Don't over complicate something as simple as a battery for your vehicle.

Duralast from Auto Zone. If anything goes wrong there are Auto Zones everywhere and they are great about replacing batteries under warranty.

Just before 3 years age my truck’s Duralast wouldn’t accept a full charge at home. I trickle charge them to at least 13vdc at least once a month but it obviously sulfated beyond repair. Summer time heat.

Took it to a different Auto Zone, explained the issue and they replaced it, no questions asked. I buy the high end Duralast which I assume have thicker plates. Our south LA climate is a battery killer.

Took them just 20 minutes and I was on my way with a new battery date coded 2 months prior. The warranty specifies just one replacement but regardless, in a time when it seems rare, that was terrific customer service.

Correct, and contrary to popular belief, heat is worse for batteries than cold.

Make sure you're also comparing warranties when comparing prices.

The greatest enemy of a battery is not driving the car/recharging the battery. Putting it on a trickle charger and/or reaching interstate speeds for 30 minutes or so, at least once a week, will greatly improve your battery's lifespan.

Modern day electronics, such as push to start systems, tax batteries more than older style systems, so 5 years out of a battery today is pretty good.

To OP, brands really don't make that much of a difference. I've had good and bad experiences with every brand of battery out there.

East Penn makes the Duracell branded batteries they sell at Sams. We use those for trolling motors and they have been great.

Walmart 1 year waranty lead acid battery The trick is to maintain it by charging it every 3 months or so and never let it go below 11 volts as sulfation of the plates will kill it I put mine on a charger every now and then to just desulfate the plates

Uh….so just drive the vehicle?

It's basically all the same. With the exception of some specific batteries, lithium or gel, they're all made in the same plants in China and white labeled. That included OEM. Just get one with a decent warranty from a place you trust.

Wrong! NAPA batteries made in USA

Several months ago my mother in laws car needed a battery. She had bought one for Wal Mart. Didn’t have a receipt or anything. My son and I removed it, WM scanned it, it was only around a year or so old. Replaced it with a brand new one. A few weeks later I did a bunch of research. Wal Mart is the way to go in my opinion.

Autozone Duralast.

After getting stranded in nowhereville Wyoming this past summer, I’m now going to treat batteries like a maintenance item and just get a new one every 3 years. Even if it’s not bad yet, it will soon be at that point, and fail in the most inconvenient place possible.

If you’re not being facetious, the heat kills your battery not the cold.

If you get 3 years around here you’re doing good.
